So many people are tempted today by the overwhelming internet resources, that they will even place a bid in a government car auctions minutes before it ends, without having any idea what they are buying or if they really have to go ahead with the purchase. Online car auctions are like any other auctions, and when you place a bid in them you are indeed legally bonded to go ahead with the purchase. All auction sites require you to join their members list before placing bids, so that you will digitally sign the custom buyer agreement. This agreement, even if it’s a simple mouse click for you, clearly specifies all terms and conditions of the website and its auctions, and also informs you of the legal implications in case you don’t go ahead with a purchase. So maybe, once in a while , it would be a good idea to actually read what we agree to do before clicking NEXT.

Carefully inform yourself of the following before placing bids online:

- The fact that details are given virtually, as in pictures or movies with the car. Of course, it’s not just the pictures, you also get a description, an address or phone number or a name. For cars that are listed from your surrounding area, the digital problem disappears because you can go see them for real. It’s the foreign cars that rise eyebrows. And, unfortunately, these are the cars that can make great buys. Therefore, you must talk to the owner and evaluate the car over the phone, ask him background details and so on.

- The fact that people place bids without asking details first. Don’t try to lie now, everyone has done it and so did you. We all think that there’ll be another bidder for sure. It’s a naïve thing to believe, because you should know better and be aware of the fact that all bids are winning bids until proven different.

- Some cars are not carefully described. These cars, even if they are very cheap, constitute a great risk. Fortunately, you can track car numbers online or over the phone, and find out all about its history, if it has been involved in any accidents and so on.

- Extra bids that are fake bids. It’s true, you are not mad, there is someone out there that bids exactly when you are prepared to give up, making you increase the bid a little more. Don’t place additional bids if you feel something is wrong, because some unfair buyers use friends accounts to place additional bids, when they don’t like the price they are offered.

- Where the car is form. It’s quite a problem if you are American and want to buy a car from Japan in car auction websites compared, because the distance is enormous and shipping can get very costy.
