Design and Aerodynamics

When designing the Murcielago LP 670, Lamborghini clearly had weight loss on their minds. Working with hi-tech carbon fiber and other lightweight materials, they managed to shave off 220 pounds from the standard Murcielago model. The structure of the car is modelled after a racing car and it employs special materials with means a weight reduction of 72.6 pounds in the chassis and exterior, 78.8 pounds in the interior and 72.6 from the engine and drive train.
